Book Description

William Battles the Anger Squiggles is a unique book that can help both educators and parents alike inform children about angry feelings and the power they have to control those feelings. Designed as a two part book, William Battles the Anger Squiggles begins with a story book about William: "an average kid, in an average school, having a not-so average day". The book follows William as one annoying thing after another happens, causing him to fill with anger squiggles - snake like creatures that move into your body each time you get mad. We watch William become so "filled" with anger squiggles that he explodes at the slightest provocation. We also see the ramifications of Williams' behavior. The story book ends with William learning how to stay in control of his "anger squiggles" by using kid friendly anger management techniques which help him in his "battle".

The second part of the book consists of both an anger management and assertiveness curriculum. Through puppet shows, role plays and fun games, children learn various anger management techniques as well as ways to speak and act assertively.

William Battles the Anger Squiggles is a fantastic book for anyone wanting to help empower a child who feels overwhelmed by their feelings. The book separates behaviors from emotion and gives children the skills they need to make better decisions.
