About the Author: Lieutenant Gary is a freelance writer born and raised in Bellflower, California. He enlisted in the Navy in 1986, and spent eleven years with the SEAL Teams as an enlisted member before receiving his degree from Old Dominion University in Virginia in 1997. He then spent another ten years with the SEAL Teams as an officer. He is highly decorated and was awarded the Air Medal for his accomplishments in Afghanistan immediately following the events which occurred in New York on September 11, 2001. LT Gary is married and lives with his wife Lori in California. They have five children named Sean, Savannah, Seth, Sierra, and Shane. About the Illustrator: Mike Motz has a career that he loves and which will keep him young-at-heart forever, while hopefully putting smiles on the faces of children and their parents for a long time to come. He works out of his home in Georgetown, Ontario, Canada, that he shares with his wife and their two children.
